Avanah's Omen is a side dungeon where you can pick up lots of loot. After you pass through the gateway portal, you should expect to find three NPCs and be immediately attacked by giants. Don't worry, they're not hard to kill -- provided you're quick on your feet.
There's a massive ravine in the middle with a land bridge connecting you to the other side. Do not fall into the ravine. Firstly, you won't die; secondly, getting out of the gorge is a huge pain -- one of the hardest climbs I've found so far. There's only one way out and it's very difficult and a huge time waster.
The troll that's guarding the bridge looks quite treacherous, however I was able to take him out at level nine in less than thirty seconds. Just be sure to avoid the massive tree in his hands when he swings it at you.
About three quarters of the way to the end, you'll find a small cave full of dragons. You can actually avoid these dragons if you wait for the giants to aggro them -- or -- you can climb over the cave itself and continue on ignoring them completely.
At the end of the path is a massive crater with a lake and a vicious and difficult giant. I highly recommend doing this with a group, however, you can beat the giant if you go prepared and make sure you add your health potions to your bar.
It didn't occur to me to take a photo of the guy as he was swinging a humongous axe at my head at the time, so I guess you'll have to go and see him yourself.
Camp
The gateway portal to Avanah's Omen is located to the north and east of Hunak just across a small waterfall lake. There's also a camp there where you can pick up some quick quests.

- Hubert Jones (in camp) - capture on Satuma scaleskin dragon (178G, 296X)
- Brendon Ben (in camp) - examine the dragon right at the guy's feet to find out what's wrong with him (89G, 148X)
- Eddie Carlos - collect five wild manning pears
